Welcome

Juchipila was once a large Province, and as late as 1772 consisted of the parishes of Juchipila (including the pueblo of Moyahua), San Juan del Mesquital, Nochistlan, Jalpa, Tabasco, Huejucar, and Villanueva. Many of these parishes were directly located on the Juchipila River, providing a much needed water source. The province of Juchipila had major migrations of individuals from Yahualica, Cuquio, Jalostotitlan, Lagos, San Cristoval Barranca, Teul, Tepechitlan, and Tlaltenago de Sanchez Roman. Many families listed here also branch out into other areas of Northern Mexico.
